A Tale of Duelling Gamers: How to collect an army.

In April, Mr. Top, Mr. Abicare and some other non-teaching type people will be taking part in a wargames army collecting challenge called A Tale of Duelling Gamers. For six months, participants will be given a set budget with which to purchase an all conquering Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 or Bolt Action army, all of which must be assembled and painted in one-month lots. Follow along to see how the daunting task of getting a complete wargames army onto the table can be broken down to manageable chunks - and more importantly how the daunting cost can be broken down into manageable chunks!

See Terrain For Hippos for the original announcement and links to the forums.

Why Thursday afternoon should never be boring.

Thursday afternoon should never be boring. And it never will be boring again. Because Thursday afternoon is when GIPPSLAND GAMERS meet!
Gippsland Gamers is an inclusive new club for the geeks of gippsland, which meets every Thursday from 16:00-21:00 at Coal Creek, in Korumburra to play games of all descriptions.
Boardgames of startling magnificence such as Castle Ravenloft, Castle Panic and even things without castles like Robo Rally!
Wargames of glorious scope such as Warhammer, Warmachine, and even things without 'war' in the name like SAGA!
Role Playing Games of depth and intrigue such as Star Wars: The Edge of the Empire and Skislands of Harran!
You bring the games (and armies).
We supply the gubbins (like tables and terrain).
You bring the gold (ie: $2 per session.)
You experience the glory (like ever-lasting bragging rights).

Only at Gippsland Gamers - as seen in newspapers and recommended by doctors!

2014 FANTICIDE season opens

For 2014 we have a new home and a new range of games.

Behold the milkbottles which are all that remain of those slain by the Pumpkin Goliath!

We'll be meeting every Friday lunchtime in C05 - there are already signs on the door. Starting with February 14th, we'll be playing Fanticide, the skirmish wargame of homicidal warbands. You'll be able to lead squads of demonic Insatiable, the witches of Hagwood and their pumpkin-y minions, and the famous Bandits of Squeakwood Forest. Also teddy bears, eventually. Each player will have their own assigned squads and objectives.
But you'll have to be patient, because my rule book is in Melbourne, so we're going to be playing boardgames tomorrow.
Like this, only, you know, fun.
