Master Painter 2016
We're starting to paint GruntZ squads today - which can mean only one thing! Time for LSCWC's Master Painter contest to return! This year, MP will form part of the GruntzArena season. It's simple. For the next two weeks, we will be painting GruntZ squads in B11 during Friday lunchtime for use in the crucible of the GruntzArena. Once painted, all GruntZ will be photographed and posted to this blog, where a poll will be held allowing the world to choose the best painted squad. That squad's painter will be crowned champion and showered in glory.

Master Painter 2015: voting opens.
Voting has opened in Master Painter 2015, LSCWC's annual painting contest!
You can check out the entries in the display cabinet in the General Office, and vote on your favourite in the poll running at the top right of this page. The winner's name (and the names of the other contestants) will be revealed on Friday 14th of August. Remember, the rewards of victory are shiny, and potentially cake-based!
PLEASE NOTE: votes do not always appear immediately. If your vote does not register, do not panic, it will appear within five minutes or so. This is a common problem with blogger's built in polling gadget.

Master Painter 2014: Voting opens.
Voting is now open for the Master Painter 2014 competition! All six entries are on display in the cabinet in the general office, and photos will be posted online later today. To ensure a level playing field, names have been kept secret, and will be revealed when the winners are announced. Cast your vote in the poll at the top of the page by selecting the entry you consider to be the best painted. Remember, this is a contest of painting skill, so take a good, hard look at each figure and check out how real it looks before deciding.
This year's prize is a choice of three large monsters from the Reaper Bones range; An Ogre, a Minotaur and a Swamp Troll. The winner will be announced on September 12th.
Also in the display cabinet, you will find our Steampunk Generators from earlier this term. They are currently basking in the spotlight of public adulation, but they will be used in a game very soon.

LSC MASTER PAINTER 2013

We're underway with the Master Painter 2013 contest. Painting starts Friday 11th in C0, and continues for a couple of weeks. After that, a poll will be posted to this blog and the whole internet can vote on who is the best painter! There are fabulous and shiny prizes! Well, there's a fabulous and slightly glossy Reaper dragon figure anyway.
This year there's a level playing field since everyone is painting one of two figures - A Reaper Bones Goblin or a Reaper Bones Kobold. These are really cool, low-cost figures made from a kind of flexible plastic which takes paint nicely, resists chipping and can even be painted without an undercoat! The range has just been expanded, and there's a second Kickstarter campaign running now to expand it even further, so next year's contest will involve even more exciting figures and prizes. I bought these ones a while back, and the expanded range has not hit Australian shops yet, so the dragon was the best figure available. Prizes next year can be more spectacular, thanks to the expanded range.
